Commercial Roofing Types:
Membrane Roofing
A membrane roof has only one ply of membrane, often referred to as a "single ply roof". The predominant membranes today are made from EPDM, PVC or TPO. A membrane roof offers more flexibility for movement and is easy to maintain.
- EPDM Rubber Roofing, or a "rubber roof", is the most common form of membrane. It is usually black in color, is either reinforced or non-reinforced and comes in a range of sizes and thicknesses.
- PVC Membrane Roofing is made from polyvinyl chloride applied over a reinforcing scrim. White is most commonly used for solar reflectivity.
- TPO Membrane Roofing is made from thermoplastic olefin or polyolefin and typically installed white.
Shingles come in a wide range of colors and styles. They also vary in terms of their longevity. We carry a wide range of products from the best shingle manufacturers in the industry such as GAF and Owens Corning, and we are factory certified installers.
- Built-Up Roofing: Felts are installed in layers and are finished with a coating or a gravel aggregate.
- Modified Bitumen Roofing:Installed similarly to Built-Up but uses plies of synthetic reinforcing scrim that is enveloped with a modified asphalt of either APP (Atactic Polypropylene) or SBS (Stryene Butadiene Styrene). It is available in multiple colors and provides a greater elasticity to the roof. The membranes are installed and bonded together with heat from a hot torch, hot asphalt or cold applied adhesive.
Age and element exposure lead to roof deterioration and eventually roof failure. A preventative maintenance program is essential to extending the life of your roof, protecting its warranties and reducing emergency repairs. Being proactive with a roof maintenance program helps you to avoid most emergency repairs and should eliminate the possibility of interior damage caused by roof leaks.
